Saif Ali Khan Attack: Actor Hospitalized After Being Stabbed at Mumbai Residence

Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was seriously injured in a shocking knife attack at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, during the early hours of Thursday. The incident, now widely referred to as the "Saif Ali Khan attack," occurred around 4 AM when an intruder reportedly attempted to enter the room of the actor’s youngest son, Jeh.

According to Lilavati Hospital’s Dr. Nitin Dange, Saif was rushed to the hospital at 2 AM with “alleged history of assault by an unknown person.” The actor sustained a major thoracic spinal cord injury due to a knife lodged in his spine. Surgeons successfully removed the knife and repaired leaking spinal fluid. In addition to this, two deep wounds on his left hand and one on his neck were treated by the hospital's plastic surgery team. “Saif Ali Khan is stable and out of danger now,” confirmed Dr. Dange.

Reports suggest that the attacker may have been staying at Saif’s residence overnight, likely posing as a worker involved in ongoing floor polishing at the home. During the scuffle, the thief stabbed Saif multiple times before fleeing the scene. The caretaker, whose screams alerted Saif, is also believed to have witnessed the attacker trying to access Jeh’s room.

Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, stated earlier in the day that Saif sustained six stab wounds, two of which were deep, including one dangerously close to his spine. The police have since questioned multiple staff members who were at Saif’s residence, with reports indicating that a female worker was also injured during the attack.

The Saif Ali Khan attack has sent shockwaves across India, with fellow Bollywood actors, fans, and political figures expressing concern over the incident. Kareena Kapoor, Saif’s wife, released a statement acknowledging the “incredibly challenging day” for their family.

The police continue to investigate the matter, and heightened security has been implemented around the actor’s home. Saif is currently recovering under medical supervision and is expected to make a full recovery.
